Marketing strategies of railway documentation centres

Documentation posts are currently in flux, often ill-understood within our companies even though, as we repeat time and again, such information occupies a strategic position in the life of our companies.
The 2005 seminar of the Documentation Group which took place in Madrid at the invitation of RENFE and ADIF and was organised by the Spanish Railway Foundation (FFE) in conjunction with UIC, focused on the marketing strategies employed by documentation centres. The issue of the cost-effectiveness of documentation centres, which are often perceived as cost centres, raises the need for efficient marketing strategies. For Documentation Centres this involves providing enhanced services and improving the efficiency of the services already available.
