Ballastless track. Application and experience with ballastless track

ZusammenfassungThe aim of the report is to compile an inventory of a number of ballastless-track systems which have been in use over a considerable period, i.i. about 10 years. The report contains a description of the ballastless-track systems which have been reviewed by a taskforce of international railway experts. All relevant information pertaining to the track systems, their characteristics and behaviour, is set-out together with the reasons why ballastless track was implemented at the particular locations visited. Hence the objective of this report is not to propose a catalogue but rather to provide a guide based on all knowledge and available information required to assess ballastless-track systems.
