 Vladimir YAKUNIN

Vladimir YAKUNIN was born in June 30, 1948 in Melenki town, the Vladimir Region. In 1972 he graduated from the Leningrad Mechanical Institute. He started working as a junior research fellow in the State Institute for Applied Chemistry. After completing his military service in the Soviet Army, he worked as an engineer, then a senior engineer in the State Committee for International Trade of the Council of Ministers (Sovmin) of the Soviet Union, and later became the head of department at the Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is married and has two sons.

Activities of Vladimir Yakunin

Between 1985 and 1991 Yakunin was in the service of the Soviet diplomatic mission to the United Nations – first as the Second Secretary and then as the Mission’s First Secretary. Then he became the Chairman of the board of CJSC International Center for Business Cooperation, director of the North-Western district inspection of the Main accountability office of the President of the Russian Federation. Since October 2000 Yakunin was deputy of the Russia’s Transport Minister. In February 2002 he was appointed the first deputy of the Russian Minister of Railways. Since October 2003 he became First vice-president of JSC «Russian Railways». On June 14, 2005 he was appointed to the position of the president of JSC «Russian Railways».

Vladimir Yakunin is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Center of The National Glory of Russia and St. Andrew’s Foundation organisations. He is also president and founder of the World public forum «Dialogue of civilizations». Co-president of the «Franco-Russian dialogue» association. Scientific supervisor and chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Governance and problem analysis center (www.rusrand.ru). Head of State policy department of the Faculty of Political Science at the Moscow State University, named after M.Lomonosov. Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the children charity fund «Rasprav krylia». Member of the Board of Trustees of the «Russkiy Mir» Foundation. Member of the Board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Chairman of Commission on transport and transport infrastructure. Doctor of Political Science. Visiting professor of the Stockholm School of Economics.

Honours and awards of Vladimir Yakunin

Awarded: Orders of Honour, Order for Merit to the Fatherland - 4th class, Medals for Battle Merit and For the Development of Railways. Orders of the Russian Orthodox Church: Order of St. Vladimir – 2 class, Order of St. Seraphim of Sarov – 2 class, Order of St. Andrei Rublev – 1st class; Order of the al-Fahr – 1st class (Council of Muftis of Russia). For his outstanding contribution to the dialogue of civilizations and peoples and the Pan-Orthodox prayer «Pray for the peace of Jerusalem» he was awarded the Order of the Holy Sepulcher (Orthodox Church of Jerusalem).

Awarded French National Order of the Legion of Honour, Grand Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria, the Order of Friendship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic – as the Grand Officer. Decoration for Honoured Railwayman of JSC «Russian Railways». International Award of St. Andrew «Faith and Loyalty» - awarded in 2000 for its contribution to the Russian nation-building and active participation in the project of creation of the Center for Russian National Glory. La Renaissance Française Gold Medal – June 25, 2012 for the contribution to the development of Russian-French relations. Awarded Order of Civil Merit of the Kingdom of Spain – the Grand Cross, Globalisation for the Common Good Initiative (GCGI, British organisation) Award for Public Service in the Interests of the Common Good.

Mauro Moretti was awarded a Degree in Electro-Technical Engineering from the University of Bologna in 1977, and the same year he won a public examination for an executive position at the Azienda Autonoma Ferrovie dello Stato. Since then, his professional career has developed within the same company, in which he has held numerous positions in various sectors and with various companies within the Ferrovie dello Stato Group.

Mr. Moretti has been Vice-Director of the Technologies and System Development Division (December 1991), Director of the Technological Development and Rolling Stock Division (March 1993), Managing Director of Metropolis – the Group company for the management, development and exploitation of real estate assets (February 1994) and Director of the Area Strategica di Affari (ASA) “Rolling Stock and Traction” (July 1996).

In December 1997 he was called to manage the Area Strategica di Affari (ASA) “Infrastructure” which he also guided after its transformation into the Infrastructure Division (July 1999). In February 2001 Mr. Moretti became a member the Board of Directors of Ferrovie dello Stato, which, in July of the same year, established Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, of which he became Managing Director.

Since 2004 he has been President of the CIFI (Italian Association of Railway Engineers). In September 2006 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Ferrovie dello Stato. Moretti is also a Member of the Board of CONFINDUSTRIA (Italian Confederation of Industry) since October 2006; He has been a member of the Board of Federtrasporto since may 2007.

Mr. Moretti has been a member of the Board of Assolombarda since May 2007 and since July 2009 a member of the Directorate of Assolombarda. The 7th of February 2008 he was appointed President of Grandi Stazioni. From October 2008 he has been delegated for Infrastructure, Logistics and Mobility at UIR. Member of the European Management Committee of UIC (Union Internationale des Chemins de Fer) from January 2007;

Chairman of CER CER Community of the European Railways (Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies) from January 2009; Vice President of UIC (Union International des Chemins de Fer) and Vice President of the European Management Committee of UIC.

He was Member of the LTF (Lyon Turin Ferroviaire) Board of Directors until September 2007. Other roles filled: Member of ANIE (National Federation of Electrical and Electronic Firms), Vice-President of the Industry Union of Rome ROME Route Management . The University of Cassino awarded Mr. Moretti an Honorary Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2005. In May 2010 he was honoured by the President of the Italian Republic to be appointed as “Cavaliere del Lavoro”.

Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, 53 years old, graduate from Ecole Centrale of Paris, was at the Economic Expansion Observatory in Hong-Kong (1977-1978) before joining the French railway company SNCF in 1978. He held in the SNCF various responsibilities: Train Operations Executive, Marketing Manager, SNCF Freight Executive branch (1980-1982, Director of SNCF Sales branch for North America (1982-1986), Director of On-board SNCF long-distance services (1986-1988), Chief executive French Railways Ltd UK (1988-1995), Director of Coal-Steel Business Unit, SNCF Freight (1995-1999), Director HR, Data Processing and Finance, SNCF Freight (1999-2000), Chief Executive SNCF Freight International (2001) and from 2001 Chairman and CEO of SNCF International and Director of International Development at SNCF. Jean-Pierre Loubinoux was appointed Director General of the International Union of Railways on 31 March 2009.

In addition, Jean-Pierre Loubinoux is holding responsibilities in a large number of associations or institutions: President of AFFI (the French association of railway engineers and managers), Vice President of Ecole Centrale association, Advisor for the French Foreign trade and President of the Transport Committee, President of Medef International France-Argentina committee.
