The next edition of the ERTMS ERTMS European Rail Transport Management System Training Programme will be held in Paris at the UIC Headquarters.

Background, content and objectives
This training session is targeted at managers in decision-making posts in transport sector in general and the railways in particular. It is also targeted at future ERTMS experts in countries planning to implement ERTMS in the near future.
The objective of this training course is to give a complete overview of all the features of ERTMS:
- Traffic Management System
- ERTMS worldwide implementation
- Background and legal framework and ERA ERA European Railway Agency control process
- How it works and its components (ETCS ETCS European Train Control System , GSM-R GSM-R Global System for Mobile Communications-Railways , Interlockings)
- Experience gained by commercial application (ETCS, GSM-R)
- Corridor approach (corridor A)
- Working session on an ERTMS Simulator
- ERTMS system evolution and specific solutions (ERTMS Regional, Limited Supervision, In-fill ...)
- Contribution of ERTMS to a sustainable transport system (capacity, safety, economics, OpenETCS)
it is also an excellent occasion to build an international network of peers.

- Staff of ministries and local authorities
- Academic institutions, consultants and associations or organisations
It is open to railway managers as well as the staff of ministries, local authorities, academic institutions, consultants and associations or organisations, depending on the number of places available. Any candidate who cannot be accepted for this session will be accepted for a subsequent session.
Participants are expected to attend all sessions in the programme. The seminar is due to be held in English only and therefore, participants are expected to have a fluent level in this language.
The theoretical programme will be taught by Prof. Peter Winter. The other speakers are experts on the topics addressed and will hail mainly from the railways, academic institutions and industry.
Participation fees
- 790, - € (excl. VAT + 19,6%) = 944,84 € for UIC members (please check on this web page if your company is duly acknowledged as a member of UIC)
- 990, - € (excl. VAT + 19,6%) = 1.184,04 € for non UIC members
This fee includes the 3 day programme, working documents, 3 lunches, coffee-breaks for 3 days and the social event on 16 June - hotel and travel costs are not included. They will be invoiced in advance of the session. For members belonging to the BCC, these costs will be debited automatically. For participants from railways not belonging to the BCC, payment must be sent to us at the same time as the registration form.
