UIC and the Station Managers Global Group (SMGG) warmly invite you to the online workshop “Next-Gen Railway Stations: Using AI to Drive Decisions and Operational Excellence” to be held on 24 June 2024 from 13:00 to 15:00.

Organised as part of the SMGG three-year work programme, this webinar reflects the group’s commitment to having open discussions with a wider audience, showcasing innovation in the station sector, and encouraging knowledge sharing across the railway community and beyond.

Following the 2026 theme “AI for Stations”, the workshop will explore how artificial intelligence can facilitate better decision-making and streamline operations in railway stations. It will highlight practical use cases and best practices in railway transport, urban planning, and station management and security, as well as demonstrating how AI can enhance planning, optimise operations, and support more efficient and resilient station environments.

The event will bring together experts from the rail sector, alongside selected speakers from the industry and academic institutions, to share insights and perspectives on emerging AI-driven approaches for stations.

This online workshop not only aims to present innovative solutions, but also to encourage dialogue and inspire closer cooperation among station managers, railway professionals, technology providers, researchers, and other interested stakeholders.

A report summarising the main outcomes of the webinar will be published after the event.
