The State Joint Stock Company Latvijas dzelzceļš’s council made the decision to appoint the current member of the Board, Rinalds Pļavnieks, to Chair of the Board, which is effective from 9 February 2023.

From 2012 to 2015 he held various positions at SIA GEFCO BALTIC, culminating in his 2016 position as the Business Development Manager at GEFCO UNITED KINGDOM LTD. He was the Global Customer Manager at the GEFCO SA Group’s head office in France until 2020, when he returned to SIA GEFCO BALTIC as Head of the Railway, Air, Sea and Oversized Cargo Department. He became a Member of the Board at SJSC Latvijas dzelzceļš in 2021.
