The Council of Ministers has approved the appointment of María Luisa Domínguez González as the new president of Adif and Adif Alta Velocidad.

María Luisa Domínguez González is a civil engineer and holds a degree in law and a Master’s degree in International Strategic Management. She has over 20 years of experience in the company, and in 2005, following the creation of ADIF, she became the Director of High Speed Projects. In 2007, she was appointed Director of Studies and Projects of the General Directorate of Major High Speed Projects, and was responsible for the preliminary studies and infrastructure and architecture projects of the new high-speed lines developed in Spain.

Since 2018 she has been the General Director of Strategic Planning and Projects at Adif and has been responsible for the corporate strategy, the functional planning of the railway network, infrastructure and architecture projects, and the company’s international relations, together with the implementation of BIM methodology in the company.

Her appointment as the new president of Adif and Adif Alta Velocidad comes after the departure of Isabel Pardo de Vera, who recently became the new Spanish Secretary of State for Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.

During her presidency, Isabel Pardo de Vera managed the implementation of the consequences of the EU’s Fourth Railway Package, successfully effecting the liberalisation of national passenger transport, a noteworthy historical milestone marked by the first commercial services from an alternative operator to RENFE.
