The Chairman of Railway Board of India visited IRaTCA

Mr. S.S Khurana, Chairman of Railway Board of India, accompanied by Mr. Arunendra Kumar, Advisor of Railway Board and Mr. Mukul Saran Mathur, Director of Asia Regional Unit, visited IRaTCA and KORAIL HRDI (Human Resources Development Institute) on November 18th, 2009 after having participated in the 8th UIC Asian Regional Assembly held in Dea-jeon, Korea.

The Chairman and his collegues were warmly welcomed by Mr. Lee, Dae-Su, Director General of HRDI and introduced about the current status of IRaTCA & HRDI by Mr. Hyon, Yong-Chon, Director of IRaTCA (International Railway Training Center for UIC-Asia).

They also participated in a test-run of the train simulator and looked around accommodation as well as other facilities.

During the visit the chairman was satisfied with well-organized training system and advanced facilities and especially interested in basic system to foster train drivers.
While he was practicing train simulators, he even got cheers from trainees.

At the end of this visit, the chairman deeply appreciated well-prepared programs expressing that “training system and training facilities to nurture employees are highly advanced, in particular, the train simulator is really impressive.”
And he also mentioned to develop strong partnership with HRDI in the field of training.

The Drector general of HRDI replied, “we strongly believe that your visit to our institute gave us the unforgettable delights. We are deeply touched by your passion and interest during the programs.” And “we are looking forward to having friendly relations between two organs” he added.

Reinforcement of mutual collaboration and understanding between both parties will be expected, if the MoU on training cooperation is signed.
