On 5 May, German Federal Transport Minister Peter Ramsauer, along with representatives from the railways, the supply industry and certification authorities, presented the new guide to rolling stock procurement. This guide is to help optimise the compulsory construction and acceptance procedures all rolling stock must undergo before commissioning. In creating more transparency, the guide should help reduce timescales for the approval process, and is also intended to create awareness among the supply industry of its responsibilities in terms of safety and quality.
