ETF (Railway Technical Publications), responsible for the publication of technical documents, is pleased to announce that RailLexic 4.0 - CD-ROM and UIC Railway Dictionary 2011 are available.

RailLexic is the UIC terminology database and a long-standing reference in the field of multilingual railway terminology. The RailLexic 4.0 CD-ROM RailLexic 4.0 contains 22 languages with about 16,000 terms per language: Arabic, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Farsi, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese (not yet complete), Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish and Swedish.

For each term, you will find the translations, variants of the term, subject fields and grammatical information. There are also definitions for about 3000 terms. Many terms carry an explanatory note and context to clarify the meaning of the term. Moreover, the terms are classified into 105 railway-specific subject fields. RailLexic 4.0 is compatible with XP and Windows 7. Network licenses (concurrent-users) are also available.

The "UIC Railway Dictionary" is the printed version of the RailLexic CD-ROM in the following three languages: English, French and German. It contains some 16,000 terms per language and for each term, subject fields and grammatical information are indicated.
