Germany: Federal Ministry of the Interior and Deutsche Bahn agree on six-year programme to develop video surveillance in stations

The German Federal Ministry of the Interior and Deutsche Bahn AG concluded an agreement on 30 August for the extension and modernisation of video surveillance in railway stations. Over the next six years 36 million euros will be invested in this joint programme.

In addition, 24 million euros will be invested by German Railways (DB AG) for the further development of the three “S” objectives (Security, Cleanliness and Service), thus contributing to ensure safety in stations.
