The 50th CER General Assembly appoints a new CER Chairman and a new Management Committee

On 27 September, the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER) held its 50th General Assembly. In honour of Croatia’s recent accession to the European Union, the Assembly was hosted in Zagreb by the Croatian companies HŽ Infrastructure, HŽ Passenger and HŽ Cargo. On this occasion, the association elected its Management Committee and its Chairman for the next two years. As of 1 January 2014, CER Chairman Mauro Moretti and current CEO of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, who led the association between 2009 and 2013, will pass the torch to Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) CEO Christian Kern.
The other members of the CER Management Committee in the period 2014 – 2015 will be: Guillaume Pepy (SNCF – Vice Chairman), Rüdiger Grube (DB, Vice Chairman), Andreas Meyer (SBB, Vice Chairman), Jiří KOLÁŘ (SZDC, Vice Chairman), Mauro Moretti (FSI, MC Member), Ilona Dàvid (MÁV, MC Member), Roger Cobbe (ATOC, MC Member), Crister Fritzson (ASTOC/SJ, MC Member), Jakub Karnowski (PKP, MC Member), Oliver Wolf (VDV, MC Member), Dušan Mes (SŽ, MC Member), and Timo Huges (NS, MC Member).

UIC expresses its warmest congratulations and very best wishes to Christian Kern on his election as new CER Chairman and looks forward to cooperating with all railway associations.
