RAILDATA, which is a Special Group of UIC created in 1995, currently brings together 17 European freight railway undertakings.

The main purpose of RAILDATA is to design, develop and run services to support its members’ European rail freight business.

RAILDATA aims to provide added value services for the rail freight sector.

In order to keep the railway sector informed of the latest RAILDATA improvements and developments to serve the rail freight industry, the RAILDATA team will henceforth have the pleasure to provide you with monthly updates in UIC eNews.

On 11 December 2013, RAILDATA invited interested members and partner companies to a presentation of its tools covering wagon monitoring, train monitoring and consignment note data. Special focus was placed recently on the implemented functionalities and RUs having little IT coverage, giving access to the most important European data exchanges for wagon tracking and tracing, consignment note data exchange and manual input of data for train pre-advice. Representatives from 10 big and small RUs participated in the demonstration.
