On 1 April, JR Central current President Yoshiomi Yamada (left) became Chairman of the company. He succeeded Yoshiyuki Kasai (centre), who became Chairman Emeritus, and was in turn replaced as President by the railway’s current Executive Vice-President Koei Tsuge (right). In his new role, Chairman Emeritus Kasai remains on the JR Central board promoting Shinkansen technologies internationally.

UIC expresses its warmest congratulations to Mr Yamada as well as to Mr Kasai and Mr Tsuge on their appointment and conveys its very best wishes.
