Effective from February 2014, DB Schenker Land Transport product quality is certified by Det Norske Veritas Germanischer Lloyd (DNV GL). This network certificate covers a pan-European product portfolio consisting of DB SCHENKERparcel, DB SCHENKERsystem, DB SCHENKERdirect and DB SCHENKERhangartner.

For the first time, the certification additionally confirms that the established system for transporting, handling and storing of wrapped and packed dry foodstuffs is in accordance with HACCP food safety principles. The group certification applies to all 730 locations part of the DB Schenker Land Transport network spanning several countries and is subject to regular surveillance audits by DNV GL.

Product certification is key to DB Schenker Logistics quality in Land Transport which is based on customer demands and three quality goals:

  1. On-time delivery of cargo and corresponding information
  2. Complete and undamaged delivery of cargo and corresponding information
  3. Correct Invoicing

“The certification which extends beyond the ISO 9001 standard is closely related to our business processes and sets a high benchmark in Land Transport,” says Karl Nutzinger, member of the Board of Management of Schenker AG and responsible for Land Transport.” With the certificate we have strengthened and have proof of the excellent quality of services provided to customers, confirmed also by our latest customer satisfaction surveys. This, together with the ISO 9001 certification, which covers all countries in which we operate is testimony to the high level of quality we are offering our customers.”

DNV GL will continue checking the compliance of the land transport network with their own harmonized high level standards in the European network. These standards have been established over years of cooperation and active participation from countries involved in network management. The upshot of this work is a true European network culture, which is the basis for the high quality standards to be found in all the above mentioned products.
