Green Cargo is now able to provide an efficient rail solution with competitive closing and pick-up times for intermodal freight between Skåne and Stockholm. Green Cargo links the ports and the terminals in Malmö, Trelleborg and Helsingborg with Årsta in Stockholm.

Considerable intermodal volumes flow between Skåne and Stockholm five days a week. Now, freight from intermodal terminals and ports in Skåne are being linked together to increase the efficiency and capacity utilisation rate of trains travelling to the capital. The investment means that the North Harbour in Malmö will be included in Green Cargo’s intermodal network, thus enabling new volumes to be transported in an environment-friendly manner between Skåne and Stockholm.

We are able to build these types of solutions with our network and, thus, offer the market an excellent rail-based alternative. By consolidating goods from the intermodal terminals and ports in Malmö, Trelleborg and Helsingborg, we can significantly increase the capacity utilisation rate for trains between Skåne and Stockholm. We achieve sustainable profitability for the line in parallel with offering our customers efficient freight solutions with short lead times”

says Richard Kirchner, Sales Director at Green Cargo.

Freight flows from Skåne five days a week, from Monday to Friday, with a pick-up time the following day in Årsta, Stockholm at 5.00 am, Tuesday through Friday and 7:00 am on Saturdays.

From Årsta, freight flows Monday through Friday and is available to be picked up in the Port of Helsingborg at 7:30 am, the North Harbour in Malmö at 8:30 am and from Trelleborg intermodal terminal at 9:30 am.
