UIC receives “Golden Chariot” award on the occasion of GRFC 2014 in Vienna

On the occasion of the 4th UIC Global Rail Freight Conference – GRFC 2014 – jointly organised by UIC and ÖBB and held in Vienna, the “Golden Chariot” internal transport awards were presented during a ceremony that took place on 25 June.

The “Golden Chariot” awards ceremony was opened by Mr Francesco Parisi, FIATA President. This contest created in 2004 in Russia rewards organisations, companies and people worldwide who contribute significantly to the development of international transport. It brings together transport operators of all modes, transport infrastructure, maintenance, support and logistic companies, transport-related education and legal organisations, associations and unions, and prominent transport professionals who have contributed the most to the development of the rail sector and its branches.

In Vienna, the “Golden Chariot” awards were presented to companies and organisations selected for their outstanding results in international cooperation. UIC was rewarded with a “Golden Chariot” award for its action in favour of international cooperation as well as OTIF, CIT, CCTT and Rail Cargo Group.
