The UIC Workshop on Passenger Activities and High Speed Rail Traffic will be hosted by the Railways of the I.R. of Iran (RAI) under the auspices of UIC in Tehran on 30 – 31 August and 1 September 2014 for three days.

This workshop will be organised and presented by the top managers and instructors from the UIC Passenger Forum and High Speed Department, as well as managers from Spain, Germany, etc.

The event will bring together engineering professionals from passenger and high speed sectors from the Middle East and Asia and will provide an opportunity to exchange information and share best practices to improve passenger activities and high speed rail. We would therefore be very pleased to welcome managers/experts/staff from your railways.

The 2nd UIC RAME Railway Safety Working Group will take place on 15 September 2014 in Teheran, hosted by the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran (RAI) and in cooperation with the UIC Safety Unit. The event will bring together railway safety experts from the Middle East region and will provide an opportunity to exchange information and share best practice to improve the safety of the railway system. Information about selected railway accidents and initiated measures by the railway companies will be presented. The development of the Middle East Safety Database will be discussed and also further cooperation and training activities in the field of Railway Safety.
