The International Association for Culture and Leisure of Railway Staff (FISAIC) held its annual international exhibition of model railways in Argelès-sur-Mer at the kind invitation of French Association UAICF at SNCF.

The members of the Technical Commission for Model Railways and Railway Heritage representing Czech, French, German and Spanish national railway companies participated in the French annual exhibition of “Module Junior” in Argelès-sur-Mer from 25 – 26 October 2014. A record of 106 models were connected to the network. The exhibition was attended by over 2300 visitors during the weekend.

The French exhibition organisers arranged a visit for the FISAIC participants to the depot of SNCF’s well-known Yellow Train in Villefranche and a trip on the special tourist Red Train from Rivesaltes to Caudies. The Yellow Train of the Pyrenees is one of the great railways of the world. A historic metre-gauge electric railway in the French Pyrenees was opened in 1909. The line rises through dramatic scenery from an altitude of 427 metres at its lower terminus at Villefranche to a summit at Bolquère Eyne, France’s highest railway station, lying at an altitude of 1592 metres above sea level.

The next meeting of the technical commission and international exhibition of model railways (FISAIC) is scheduled to be held at the DB Museum in Halle (Saale) in mid-October 2015.
