A ceremony to mark the opening of a new passenger route between Minsk Pasažyrski and Minsk National Airport was held on 10 November 2014 at Minsk Pasažyrski station.

The Head of Belarusian Railways Mr Vladimir Morozov said that it had become a tradition to implement new railway projects in the autumn. He reminded participants that last autumn a new route between Minsk and Rudziensk was put into service. Mr Morozov said “today we are glad to introduce our new transport product to passengers. The new train will run on a trial basis. We will study and consider any passenger suggestions and proposals during the test period and will try to improve the technology.”

He also emphasised that the project had made it possible for passengers to reach the national airport from any location with a railway station. The project provides for the development of intermodal transport, integration of air and railway services and the establishment of a single transport system. Mr Morozov thanked all the participants and hoped the initiative would be a success.

The Minister of Transport and Communications Anatoly Sivak agreed with Mr Morozov and noted, “the railway experts and I think it is a promising project”.
