The meeting focused on the best practices of corridor management in Europe (Rail Freight Corridor 1 – RFC1), whose successful experience could be applied to the international railway corridors in the European-Asian space. Railway experts and managers from China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, France, international organisations, freight forwarders and logistics operators discussed and presented concrete results on significant topics such as CIM/SMGS consignment note issues and potential, legal harmonisation, market obstacles and potential, bottlenecks in infrastructure and operations, and cooperation gaps between railways.

The group also discussed the results of the questionnaire on the issues of Euro-Asian Rail corridors, and reasoned on the possible international projects which could facilitate the railway business on global corridors and attract business to rails.
