A unique opportunity to discover the latest audio-visual productions from member railways and public transport companies
The 21st edition of CINERAIL, the international railway film festival (“Train on Film”) will take place from 18 to 20 October 2015 in Marrakech, Morocco, prior to the 5th International Conference on Railway Stations, NEXT STATION 2015 (21-23 October).
This unique international event fully dedicated to trains and the world of railways on film, will be organised in Morocco by a number of partners including UIC, Moroccan State Railways ONCF (Host of the Film festival), UITP, Trains Expo SNCF, EICAR and several other players from the railway or media sector.
CINERAIL, an internationally-recognised cultural and professional event, presents at each edition a selection of feature films and documentaries from around the world, on trains or in stations, or illustrating people’s lives, travellers and railway staff.
CINERAIL also provides an opportunity to promote exchanges between professionals from railway companies or public transport companies, from industry and from the audio-visual and communications world. Professional exchanges are focused on the optimal use of audio-visual tools (films and videos) in the context of new communication strategies and technologies.
For UIC and UITP members, it offers an international professional platform to present the latest film and video productions serving all types of objectives:
Corporate communication and presentation of the railway and public transport companies to institutional target groups or the public at large
Commercials and TV spots
Videos targeted at companies’ staff. For example for training purposes or motivational action in the field of safety and security issues
Video programmes for multimedia, training programmes and social networks
An international jury of professionals rewards the most talented and effective film productions.
Over 2 000 films from 5 continents have already been shown to the public (50 000 spectators) and professionals over the course of the 20 past editions. The 20th (Anniversary) edition was held in November 2013 in Paris, in close partnership with Russian Railways (RZD) and a number of partners from the railway and public transport world.
Films from all parts of the world were awarded in the different award categories.
CINERAIL 2015 in Marrakech will start on Sunday 18 October with an opening event in the evening and will provide a 2-day film programme and a closing ceremony on Tuesday 20 October in the early evening at the Palmeraie Palace Hotel.
