DB Schenker together with Jinbei Automotive are building DB Schenker’s second largest logistics centre in China. With the groundbreaking ceremony for the modern facility DB Schenker and Jinbei Automotive officially started their logistics joint venture “Schenker Logistics Jinbei” (SJL). The warehouse in Shenyang Tiexi district will consist of two state-of-the-art warehouses with a total area of over 42,000 square metres. The go-live of the facility is scheduled for November 2016.

“The groundbreaking ceremony is a major step forward magnifying our footprint in the world’s largest automotive market”, said Jochen Thewes, Global CEO, Schenker AG at the ceremony in Shenyang.

SJL (Schenker Logistics Jinbei) was formed in February 2015 to offer best-in-class logistics services in the City of Shenyang, northeastern China, one of the main clusters of the automotive industry in China. Jinbei Automotive will provide the full range of logistics services including customised logistics solutions, supply chain management, pick and pack, just in time/sequence inventory, inventory management, quality control, cross docking and vendor managed inventory.

Before the new facility kick-starts its operations at the end of the year, SJL (Schenker Logistics Jinbei) already provides a range of customised logistics services in different warehouse locations in Shenyang to automotive customers such as Toyota.
