Following the congress held in Delhi in December 2015, the next UIC Global Rail Security Congress will take place in the Hilton Helsinki Strand, Finland, from 23 – 25 November 2016, organised in partnership between between the International Union of Railways UIC and the Finnish Transport Agency FTA.

The general theme of the congress is “Security of Stations” and the final programme will be developed according to the main topics you will suggest…and perhaps present. This programme will be finalised by a scientific committee bringing together UIC Security, UIC SMGG (Station Managers Global Group, from the UIC passenger department), and FTA.
All topics may be addressed: design of security, daily delinquency versus terrorism, evolution of CCTV, detection of weapons and explosives, partial or total closing of the stations, legal aspects, possible international standards, human factors, training and communication, digital aspects and social media.

A work meeting will be held in Helsinki with our Finnish partners on 13 September, following which more details will be sent.

A preparatory workshop should be organised during the 2nd UIC Security Week from 17 – 20 October 2016 at UIC HQ, Paris.

The congress will not require registration fees from UIC members and will be open to interested sponsors.

We are waiting for your active participation. Please do not hesitate to disseminate this “save the date/call for papers” within your company and we remain at your disposal for any further information.
