Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, UIC Director General, participated in the European Railway Summit on 7 November 2017 in Brussels on the theme “Beyond the Fourth Railway Package”.

As “impulse speaker” during a session dedicated to “Rail in Tomorrow’s Transport Mix”, he particularly insisted on the main trends and oppotunities given to the railways, by mentioning among other points:

• Modal complementarity
• The development of corridors
• Management of the interfaces of the logistics chains (stations and hubs)
• The impact of digital and openness to a new ecosystem
• The pursuit of innovation
• The rail asset in a sustainable, connected, integrated chain of mobility
