On Monday 7 May, the Call for Papers for the 12th WCRR was officially opened! All researchers are invited to submit papers on their important work to innovate the railways using the online conference management system that can be accessed through the website www.wcrr2019.org. The deadline for submission is set for 10 August 2018. The possibility for sponsors to support this prestigious event as well as the possibilities for exhibitors to register and claim their exhibition space has been opened.

The 12th World Congress on Rail Research will take place from 28 October to 1 November 2019 at the Tokyo International Forum situated directly next to Tokyo’s main railway station.

The WCRR was first held in 1994 and is the world’s largest international congress on railway research. It is a major gathering for engineers and researchers as well as for executives and managers to exchange ideas. Besides that, it is also a great opportunity to present the technology of your organisation to railway experts from around the world.

The theme for the 2019 WCRR is “Railway Research to enhance the customer experience”.

This edition of the WCRR will be hosted by the JR Rail Technical Research Institute, while the members of the supporting Organising and Executive Committees consist of representatives of the AAR – Association of American Railroads, TTCI, DB, RSSB, SNCF, JR RTRI, Trenitalia and UIC.
