Belarusian Railway and the Export-Import bank of China signed a 65.7 million loan agreement. This document was signed as part of Vladimir Morozov’s visit to the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held from 25 – 27 April in Beijing. The funds will finance the third stage of the electrification of Homiel-Žlobin-Asipovičy and Žlobin-Kalinkavičy sections.

Of the 1228 km of rail track in Belarus 22,5% is electrified. Belarusian Railway completed the electrification of Homiel—Žlobin—Asipovičy, Maladziečna—Gudogai—Lithuanian state border railway section. There are plans to electrify more than 60 km each year.

The electrification of the Žlobin-Kalinkavičy railway section will be completed before the end of 2020. Ultimately the total electrified route length is expected to be 25%.

Vladimir Morozov also took part in the thematic forum on Infrastructure Connectivity, meeting the administrations of CUEC and CRRC companies.
