Laurent Poutas appointed GSM-R senior advisor at UIC HQ.

Laurent Poutas has recently joined the UIC Infrastructure Department, to reinforce the telecommunication team and service to Members. He will work with Dan Mandoc.

As a graduate of the University Paris XI in Applied Physics and Signal Processing, Laurent joined Nortel in 1995, after working in Alcatel Radiotelephone, where he worked in the engineering of GSM & GSM-R networks around the world.

His most recent position, before joining UIC, was leading the GSM-R Core Engineering Group within Nortel. Laurent had pioneered key achievements in the GSM-R Quality Of Service, bridging the gap between the Telecommunication & Railway Signalling industries.

His skills complement the existing team and ensure that UIC’s core service to Members, in the Telecommunications field, will be further enhanced.

On the hobby side, Laurent enjoys flying & sailing.
