UIC, the Association of the European Rail Industry (UNIFE) and the Railenergy partners invite to the Railenergy Final Conference in Brussels (Belgium) on November 25th, 2010.
The Railenergy project, targeted to increase energy efficiency of integrated railway systems by investigating and validating solutions ranging from the introduction of innovative traction technologies, components and layouts to the development of rolling stock, operation and infrastructure management strategies, is reaching the home stretch. The project is going to deliver a comprehensive catalogue of technical recommendations by the end of 2010.
The overall objective of this FP 6 research project was to provide technical solutions for cutting energy consumption in railway systems, thereby reducing both life cycle cost and CO2 emissions at the same time. The set project target was an overall 6% energy consumption reduction of rail systems by 2020.
The conference will offer the latest news on energy saving potentials for the railways in one comprehensive day and allows insight into all the results from this collaborative, four years rail research project. Discover the latest tools for energy calculation and evaluation as well as most promising technologies for energy saving and discuss their possible implementation with the project partner and other participants!
