The final workshop on the report of “A prefeasibility study on Upgradation of OHE Design to 160-200 km/h” was jointly organised at the Indian Railways Board with UIC, Indian Railways, RDSO and d2Engineering on 19 March in New Delhi, India.

Following the interim report workshop last December in Seoul, Republic of Korea, this final workshop brought together over 40 participants. The appointed consulting service provider for this work, d2Engineering, gave a presentation about the summary of the final report. Moreover the workshop was connected to UIC in Paris as well through the web conference.

During the workshop, detailed research and proposed suitable OHE Design simulations were shown to the audience through the analysis and on-site survey studies between the Pradhankhanta and Gaya line section of Indian Railways. At the Q&A session that followed immediately afterwards, the participants asked a number of specific questions and held enthusiastic discussions about OHE and Power supply facilities.

There were many comments and additional remarks, and this feedback will be included in the final report.

Mr Vincent Vu, Director of Institutional Relations Coordinator Asia-Pacific at UIC warmly thanked Indian Railways for leading the study and hosting the final workshop, and underlined on behalf of UIC that this research would be a good example and case study for UIC Asia-Pacific members who are in the same situation with their OHE infrastructure to be upgraded toward 200 km/h.

Reruns of the workshop can be seen on UIC Asia-Pacific TV throughout the month of April and the final report will be submitted at the end of March and validated at the 19th UIC Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly on 11 May in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
