On 31 May, the six railways connecting Kunming and Shanghai, Nanning and Chengdu were finally integrated to the “six yards of three levels” of Kunmingdong Railway Station, marking a decisive breakthrough in networking the three trunk lines and the official launch of service of Yunnan’s largest railway hub.

With the completion of the project, Kunming’s blueprint to be a railway hub serving freight transport to South Asia, Southeast Asia and the rest of the country has become a reality with great significance for improving railway network structure and transport capacity, and playing a better role in serving and integrating with the Belt and Road Initiative.
