China’s first special train for cold chain transportation to Russia departs from Qiqihar

Special train “Longhai” for cold chain transportation from Qiqihar to Moscow whistled and slowly set off from Qiqihar container terminal at 10:00 on 25 September, fully loaded with onions. The special train is due to arrive at Moscow, Russia’s capital in 10 days. This marks the successful operation of China’s first special train for international cold chain transportation to Russia.

Since then, four round-trip special trains will be in operation every month for cold chain transportation to Russia. On arrival at Moscow, they are supposed to return to Qiqihar with high quality goods such as Russian wine and meat products. The operation of this special train is of great significance for market development of CRE services in cold chain transportation, resource integration of social cold chain transportation and system construction of new-type railway cold chain logistics.
