Following the resignation of Mr Marian Marius Chiper from the position of Acting General Director on 24 October 2017, the CFR Management Board appointed on 9 November 2017 Mr Marian Cristian Ungurean as new Acting General Director of the National Railway Company CFR SA.

Mr Ungurean will coordinate the activity of CFR SA, the national company that manages the public railway infrastructure of Romania, until the selection procedure of a full General Director will be completed, according to Romanian legal provisions on Corporate Governance of Public Enterprises.

As an engineer with 23 years of experience in the railway field, Mr Ungurean will focus during the next period of time on two important targets: identification of efficient solutions for sorting out the current problems of the company’s activity and elaboration of a strategic prioritization of the investment programmes in the railway infrastructure.
