  • Crisis Management
  • Cybersecurity
  • Reporting

Within the framework of the MoU, the UITP and UIC Security Division have strongly fostered their cooperation since the beginning of 2018 with the aim to:

  • Identify common needs/topics of the members
  • Provide effective solutions
  • Improve the security network, exchange experience and best practice
  • Save efforts

The UIC and UITP Security Division have identified and regularly update the following common topics, which are key to the organisation of their activities:

  • Security Awareness, e.g. women in public transport
  • Training sessions, e.g. WBT
  • Terrorism, e.g. CBRNE
  • Cybersecurity
  • Security Technology, e.g. Air Drones, FFCCTV
  • Business Community Management (BCM)
  • Crisis Management, e.g. Crisis Communication and social media, blackout situations
  • Access control/protection of property
  • Intermodal vision of security in daily transport

Through joint surveys (e.g. the use of FFCCTV (April/May 2018) or Body Cameras (November 2018)), publications (e.g. recommendations on Crisis Management (2017), Crisis Communication, BCM and blackout situations (planed in the beginning of 2019)) and meetings, the above-mentioned goals will be achieved, and added value will be provided for UIC and UITP members.

This was also the case last week, when UIC participated in the UITP Security Commission meeting from 14 – 16 November 2018 in Madrid to present and discuss together topics regarding the UIC Security Platform (such as the 4th Security Week and the 14th UIC World Security Congress), the UIC Network of Quick Responders and the new EU project “SHERPA – Shared and coHerent European Railway Protection Approach” coordinated by the UIC Security Division (see eNews 622).
