JSC NC KTZ held a meeting on improving the quality of diagnosis of railway tracks.

Representatives of the media were briefed on the features of the new system of diagnosis and the progress of its implementation by Aslan Akashov, Director of the branch of the JSC NC "KTZ branch concerning diagnostic paths.

Within the framework of the Digital Kazakhstan state programme, a decision was made to replicate the project of ASU Magistral with the introduction of six units of Mobile Diagnostic Systems (MDK).

“The purpose of the project in the first place is to ensure the safe movement of trains, the timely detection of malfunctions of track and rail defects, and conducting complex diagnostic paths,” said Aslan Akashev.

New MDK enable to determine automatically and in real time the size of gaps in rail joints, the absence of butt bolts and quickly take measures to bring the speed of trains in line with the state of the track. Their distinctive feature is also an increase in speed of up to 90 km/h.

In May this year, the new MDK have already started to provide services for the diagnosis of the infrastructure of backbone networks. The system will be fully operational in November 2019.
