Belgian railway undertaking SNCB has been nominated, along with three other candidates, for the Covid-19 Outbreak Special Award. The nominees will present their achievements and challenges during a live webinar to be held as part of the Virtual European Risk Management Awards Week, organised by FERMA (Federation of European Risk Management Associations) and Commercial Risk Europe from 7 – 11 December 2020.

The European Risk Management Awards have, over the last three years, recognised and rewarded best practice and innovation among risk managers and the wider community of industry experts – brokers, insurers, technical specialists and other partners – who support them.

SNCB’s nomination follows its work in keeping the company delivering essential transport in a safe way for its passengers and staff. The nomination is the combined result of the dedicated work of teams in different parts of the company and during an unprecedented pandemic crisis.

SNCB has built on the help and support of the UIC Covid-19 Task Force and its members, who are coordinating the railway sector’s response to the pandemic.
