Rail Safety week in the USA, Canada and Mexico

The goal of Rail Safety Week (RSW) is to raise awareness of the need for rail safety education and empower the general public to keep themselves safe near highway-rail grade crossings and railroad rights-of-way. Join us in observing Rail Safety Week this year from Monday, September 21 through Sunday, September 27!

This year, Rail Safety Week will be observed in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Operation Lifesaver, Inc. (OLI), Operation Lifesaver Canada and the Asociación Mexicana de Ferrocarriles (Mexican Association of Railroads, or AMF) will support the public awareness initiative to encourage drivers and pedestrians to practice safe behaviour near railroad tracks.

In 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Rail Safety Week activities in states across the U.S. will have an emphasis on social media and virtual safety messaging.

Note that Operation Lifesaver USA, Operation Lifesaver Canada (in English) or Operation Gareautrain (in French) have been great supporters of ILCAD during the last decade. They have been organising great rail safety awareness campaigns for 50 years now and the results of their actions are extremely challenging!

AMF in Mexico have also supported ILCAD this year publishing our press release on their social networks.

More information to come in the next weeks.
