UIC Africa hosted an online booth, “UIC and its added value for railways”, at the seventh EU-Africa Business Forum (EABF22) held in Brussels and online on 14-18 February 2022. UIC representatives also attended some of the high-level panel discussions held during the forum, including the panel on infrastructure and connectivity, which placed a strong emphasis on the railways, highlighting a global gateway investment package for Africa as well as opportunities and recommendations for the continent.

EABF22 was co-organised by the European Commission and the African Union Commission, as well as EU and African business organisations. The event offered an opportunity to network and interact with African and European business leaders and decision-makers.

The online booth provided an opportunity to showcase the African Railway Green Deal for Sustainable Mobility, International Green Transport Week events, UIC’s Technical Solutions for the Operational Railway, its vision for 2030: “ Design a Better Future”, and UIC OSDM. It also offered a platform for interaction with participants and regional and international organisations.
