The introduction was delivered by Mr Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, UIC Director General. Björn Westerberg, CEO ASTOC gave a keynote speech on “Digitalisation, AI and predictive maintenance”. The “Clear station” project (DIGIM) was then presented by VIA Rail: “From a Proof of Concept to a pilot”. Innovative Mobility for the visually impaired was also presented by GoSense.
Secondly, the UIC Digital Platform activities were presented by Francis Bédel, UIC Chief Digital Officer. Parinaz Bazeghi shared her experience in participating in the UIC Digital Awards in 2016 in St Petersburg.
During the conference, UIC held the UIC Digital Awards 2018 ceremony.
To conclude this event, Gianluigi Castelli, UIC Chairman and Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, UIC Director General, highlighted the main digital challenges for the railways.
